All the pretty lights

Ross arrived in New York late monday night the week of thanksgiving. As soon as he arrived I got him settled and went to bed... because I had 4 hours of dancing the next morning.  After my classes ending I got home we got some food and then walked to school so I could show him around.

It was really cool to be able to share my life in New York with him.

After touring around Yonkers and Bronxville for the afternoon we came back to my house to make "Thanksgiving" dinner. I roasted a chicken, made homemade mashed potatoes, stove top, and biscuits.

My first ever roast chicken!

Wednesday morning we went into the city to stay for the rest of his trip. We stayed at the doubletree manhattan on 53 and Lexington.

-------------------------------------------------

Once settled in the hotel we went out exploring. First things first, Times Square.

Ross nearly spent $500 on Book of Mormon tickets from a scalper but I dragged him away (yes I'm to blame). After walking around some more Ross had a crazy idea to see if there was a Black Sheep in New York, there was.

So we went to eat at The Black Sheep

We got shepherds pie and chicken pot pie

Ross was very excited

After exploring all day we took a short nap/foot rest before exploring some more for dinner. It turned into a HUGE exploration. We started in Times Square

After Times Square we went to Bryant Park, Rockefeller center (swarming with high school cheerleaders for the parade), then over by moma and finally found a place to eat a few blocks up from times square where we had a ridiculously nice dinner and then a quiet walk back to the hotel. From the Hotel we went to a rooftop bar by the empire state building which was AMAZING... and Ross made friends with the manager (of course... he makes friends with everyone hehe).

Thanksgiving day we got up at 9 and went to the parade for a while before meandering through town

After walking around we stopped at FAO Schwartz before the parade crowd then walked to central park on the most beautiful New York morning

After the parade ended and the streets became super crowded we decided to go to Chinatown to escape some of the craziness. Chinatown was AWESOME, we sampled bakeries and walked around in search of Dim Sum, which unfortunately they were all booked up with wedding receptions (yeah apparently its a popular thing to do). So we ate some pho instead.

After china town we went to the financial district to see the former spot of the twin towers, the new buildings etc and ran smack dab into Occupy wall street. Then we went back up to Times Square hoping to catch the Wired store open, it was closed so instead we went to Ripley's believe it or not.

After Ripley's we went in search of an open sushi place

It was an intense search...

But we eventually found one

After sushi we went in search for dessert and we found chocolate croissants to take to the hotel and chocolate cappuccino cheesecake
Friday morning we slept in and just enjoyed hanging out together, then we checked out and walked to the public library a block from the shuttles to the airport and watched some kids breakdance and finished off the croissants.

Then it was time for the horrible goodbye where Ross got on the shuttle to JFK and I got on the train to Yonkers.

It was the perfect weekend (minus the fact I had a cold) and I'm so thankful I had the time with Ross, he's kind of amazing to a degree that only exists in stories.
